  • This essentials course for occupational therapy professionals will develop your knowledge and understanding of Parkinson's and the range of symptoms people living with the condition may experience. You will gain insights into the strategies and assessments you can use to support your patients to live well with Parkinson's both physically and mentally, and the importance of including your patient's family and care partners in their care. You will also have opportunities to reflect on your current practice and what changes you might implement as a result of your learning.

      • Describe common symptoms of Parkinson’s (motor and non-motor) 

      • Consider how the timing of an assessment may be impacted by a patient's time critical medication regime

      • Advise on strategies to support mobility, transfers and activities of daily living in the home environment

      • Provide patients with strategies to manage symptoms linked to cognition, memory and mood
